About The Event
"Managing Emotional Mayhem" lays a conceptual foundation, explores limiting beliefs, presents new adult skills and teaches us how to coach children in a transformative self-regulation process. As a result, they are better able to respond to daily challenges in a manner beyond the immediate survival reactions of pushing, hitting and crying. Most of us can manage conflict and respond with forethought and positive intent when we feel calm and life is going our way. But what happens when the daily demands become stressful and life becomes complicated? How do these stressors impact a child’s ability to manage in their environment? Adults need to be conscious of the culture and behavioral patterns that are aiding or impeding a child’s ability to regulate.
